Crooked River - It's not exactly a river. It's a mixture of fresh water and tidal water between the barrier islands along the shores of Georgia.
Crooked River State Park is so beautiful! Water from all directions, long beaches, amazing old oak trees and wonderful sunsets. It neighbours Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, the biggest submarine base on the Atlantic coast.
St Marys, a charming little town suggests a walk following 35 old oak trees more then 200 years old. Those are really old trees! Very tall and wide and each one of them has a story behind it.

We took a boat tour on the swamp's water. The water are dark and quiet. The reflections are so beautiful I couldn't stop taking pictures.There is also a small train that takes you through the woods to watch alligators and tortoises. We climbed to the top of the watch tower, 117 stairs (I could hardly breathe but I made it!) It was worth it, to see the horizon of thousands of trees.
