This road is a scenic and historical coastal route following the white sandy beaches, passing through charming coastal towns and famous touristic attractions.
When we found out about it, we decided to follow it wherever it is on our way.

I warmly recommend you to do the same. The view is lovely, a lot is happening along this route.
We met state parks, forts, lighthouses, St Augustin, Cape Canaveral, Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach and more to come.

At one point, east of Jacksonville the road ends on the St Johns River bank, you take a ferry to cross the river and continue driving on the other side. http://stjohnsriverferry.com/
There, on the far bank the Safe Harbor Seafood Market and Restaurant offers you a huge variety of seafood and fish, the catch of the day. Fresh and tasty! We had a grouper that was mouth wetting and so tasty.

We plan to continue exploring A1A SR in the next days!
